I have to tell you all I HATE this freaking weather! It sucks. I realize it's January but does it have to be -25 when I wake up? Yesterday we had a high of 5. I can handle a week or two of this but it has been constant.(since before Thanksgiving) We have had a couple of "balmy" days in the 20's but come on I need some sun. I guess this is what a Wisconsin winter is all about!

?
I can't believe it's already Friday! Where did the week go? I have been tending to a sick little girl (pink eye and fever) and mourning the death of Heath Ledger. I have found that since I am housebound I check TMZ and various other"news" sources constantly. (really, like every 10 min) I am beginning to feel like a freak. For some reason it makes me REALLY sad. I even shed a few tears.(I'll chalk that up to PMS) He was one of the people I was hoping to bump into on my trip. I even warned my husband ;) It just goes to show you how precious life is.

I love New York
I just returned home from my trip last night. I had a wonderful time, New York is my new love. I have now been there 3x and each time I leave wanting more! It is not a place I would want to raise my kids but when they fly the nest I could see myself there. Soho, the West Village, Greenwich Village, I am definitely a downtown girl.
I have stories and pictures coming shortly, I just need to get back into the swing of things here!

Yeah!!!
Today has been a good day! I now have had a couple people peek at this blog. Thank you, Thank you. I also am gearing up for my girls long weekend in NYC. I leave on Wed. and will return on Monday. I really need this trip. 2007 was such a stressful year. This last move has been incredibly difficult and I feel so lonely up here. I had a couple of health issues, a miscarriage and kidney stones. My relationship with my mother took another blow (we have not spoke in 6.5 months)I gained 10 lbs(I am a stress eater) and can't seem to loose it! So I plan on relaxing, shopping, celebrity gawking and enjoying all the sights and sounds New York has to offer. I can't wait to go back to Moustache, they have the best hummus! I want to check out the Spotted Pig, I hear that is one of the places to be. We are looking for some fun spots to go after dinner, any suggestions? I hope to have lots of stories for you once I return. Have a good week.

Finally!
I have been lurking on several blogs for about 2 years now and I finally am creating one of my own. So now that I have started I can draw a line through one of my goals for 2008.In case any of you are wondering here is a sampling of others I hope to mark off......
1. Take off 15-20 lbs (I know, I know)
2. organize photos
3. enjoy the little things
4. yell less ( I sometimes have anger issues)
5. tap into my creativity
6. smile more
7. be on time
Now for a little about me. My name is Tara and I have just officially entered my mid-thirties. I live in the middle of nowhere aka Wisconsin. I have been here for 8 months. Originally I hail from Northeastern Ohio. For the past 6 years I have been touring the midwest with my corporate ladder climbing husband (J) we have made stops in Minneapolis and Chicago. I have 2 fabulous daughters ages 7 and 4. I love to cook, I tend to be somewhat of a food snob. I love to read, shop, garden, dance and travel.
I hope you stay tuned, I promise not all posts will be as boring as this! I just need to get into a groove and try to be as candid and witty as the bloggers I love!
